Liner Notes

This project is the revised version of the current GIF available on J.Ramada’s YouTube channel.

The idea behind this project was to create a simple visual for a 35 minute long radio broadcast that would be hosted on select video streaming services.

J.Ramada shared an image of a vintage radio, then he ducked for cover. I photoshopped the original image to clean it up, then created a “working area” in the center of the speaker grill. A graphic equalizer display, consisting of moving lights, was hand-crafted from scratch to give the effect of live audio.

I made one hundred unique versions of the “moving lights”, each with a slight shift in an upwards or downwards direction, and in most cases a change in color from green to yellow, yellow to orange, or orange to red. Each of the one hundred images was saved as a .png file and the whole collection was converted into a GIF.

The original version, created several years ago, is the version currently shown on J.Ramada’s YouTube channel. I recently revised the design, changing the color theme of the radio to shades of green. The new GIF will be utilized in an upcoming J.Ramada Radio release.
